Crash Bash Wallop!

My latest creation is based on a request from a WRP7 member.  He wanted a Crash Bandicoot team.  Crash Bandicoot is a computer game so creating the characters was quite difficult as they are usually viewed as polygons on a TV screen, not as Subbuteo players!

Here's how they've turned out

My team for 2011

I recently purchsed some Astrobases to play with at my local club.  Here's the team I will be using

The kit is not based on any team that I know of, I just made it up as I went along!

If you are part of a local club, be it a school team or pub side, and would like a subbuteo team in your teams colours, please get in contact with me at worcrp7@gmail.com

The Goonies

One of my favourite films of all time is the Goonies.  I love it when Sloth shouts "Hey you guys!" on the pirate ship.  I jumped at the chance to paint them when someone asked me to do them.

Here's how they have turned out

L-R Mikey, Mouth, Data

L - R Andy, Brandon, Stef

L - R Chunk, Sloth

The Fratelli's L - R Jake, Ma, Francis

Dr Who

This year saw the creation of the 11th Dr Who.  Perfect for a football team!

I didn't like watching Dr Who when I was a child as it scared the life out of me!  I think it was the Daleks that scared me the most.

Here's my attempt at Dr Who throughout the ages.

Star Trek

"Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before"

I'm not a massive Trekkie, but I do enjoy the original Star Trek films and watched the Next Generation series when I was a kid.  Continuing with the space theme following on from the Star Wars post, I thought it would be fun to paint some Star Trek characters.

Here's how it turned out

L-R: Scotty, Bones, Cpt Kirk, Spock

Close up of Spock
L-R Worf, Cpt. Jean-Luc Picard, Lt Riker
L-R Data, Deanna Troi, Dr Beverly Crusher, Geordi La Forge

Star Wars

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away........

.........I decided to paint Star Wars figures!  I love Star Wars. It's been one of my favourite films (if not THE favourite) since I was a kid.  Whenever I mention to people that I paint Subbuteo figures, the first thing they all say is "you should paint a Star Wars one".  When I say everyone, I mean EVERYONE!  I've lost count of the amount of times I've been asked to do this.  Well here it is.  It's the only time I'm painting these figures so enjoy the pictures!

L-R - Luke Skywalker, Obi-wan Kenobi, Princess Leia

L-R - Han Solo, Chewbacca

L - R - Boba Fett, C3P0, Lando Calrissian

L - R - Dave the Stormtrooper, Darth Vader, Trev the Stormtrooper

Wrestlers

My latest order is for a team of wrestlers.  Well I haven't watched any sort of wrestling since Wrestlemania in about 1992, so I didn't have a clue who half of the wrestlers were that i needed to paint up.

Hopefully they've turned out ok!

L - R: Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Triple H

L - R: Terry Funk, Bobby Lashley, Rey Mysterio, Shawn Michaels

L - R: Rick Rude, Undertaker, Brett "The Hitman" Hart
All 11 wrestlers
If you fancy a team of wrestlers (I can attempt to do whichever ones are your favourites) then email me.  The email address is at the top left of this blog.

TMNT

Growing up as a kid in the late 80's / early 90's, Subbuteo wasn't my only passion.  One of my favourite cartoons of the time was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  I remember playing in the fields behind my house pretending to be Michaelangelo throwing around 2 sticks that were tied together with a piece of string to act as nunchuckas.

I thought that it would be fun to make a Subbuteo team of TMNT.  Here's how it turned out.

L-R Michaelangelo, Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello

Detail of the shells
April O'Neill and Master Splinter

Bebop and Rocksteady

Kraang, Shredder and Foot Soldier

I want BIG BOOBS!

Well this was an interesting order!

I've had fun researching, creating and painting this team up for a friend of mine.  The request for this team was girls in their underwear with a saucy flicking keeper.  Hopefully I've managed to pull it off!

"I want her to be blonde, have MASSIVE boobs and be naked"  well meet Pamela.  At least the collar and cuffs match!

Again, this team has been made to order and is an example of the fantasy teams that I can produce for you.  If you have an idea, no matter how obscure, I can make it for you (or at least try to!)  This team will shortly be making an appearance in a well known UK league.  Look out boys!

Flicking Goalies

Well I've been a bit busy recently.  I'm surprised at the amount of interest I've had and all the postive comments.  Thankyou to everyone who has been so kind!

Here's an example of some flicking keepers that I've painted up this week.  4 sets are basic, 1 set (the new England kit) is more detailed.

L - R - Standard Sky Blue, Standard Green, new England kit, Standard Yellow, Standard Orange

This is a representation of the current England goalkeeper kit and an example of the higher detailed paintwork that can be done.  All handpainted, no decals.

All of the above have been made to order.

Finally finsished the Cowboys and Indians team.

The team has been made to order for Mark Smith of Wycombe TFC.

Ever had an idea that you thought "This will look great as a Subbuteo team" but never got around to painting it?  Well I've had that idea on many occasions.  Here's just a few of the players I have painted up

The Superheroes

L - R: Batman, Silver Surfer, Joker, Captain America, Superman, Iron Man, Daredevil, Venom, Hulk, Spiderman

Cowboys and Indians

If you have an idea for a fantasy team that you would like painted up, please contact me
